Former Vice President of Nigeria, Dr Alex Ifeanyichukwu Ekwueme is dead. A statement from his family signed by his brother and the traditional ruler of Oko in Anambra State, Igwe Laz Ekwueme said that he died by 10:00pm in a London clinic, Sunday. The statement read: “Ekwueme family regrets to announce the peaceful passing away of their patriarch, the former Vice-President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria Dr Alex Ifeanyichukwu Ekwueme GCON. “The sad event occurred at the London Clinic at 10:00 pm on Sunday 19th November 2017.” Ekwueme had slumped in his Enugu residence, and immediately taken to the Memfys Neurosurgery Hospital Enugu, where he relapsed and went into coma. Serena Williams’ stunning wedding dress has finally been revealed in a series of photos taken during and after her Thursday-night ceremony with Reddit founder Alexis Ohanian.  Photos of the event taken exclusively by Vogue magazine shows Williams looking radiant in the flowing, lacy white Alexander McQueen dress, which was crafted by head designer Sarah Burton.  Williams then swapped that for a shorter, though no less beautiful, Versace number for the first dance, which saw the newlywed couple dancing to ‘Tale As Old As Time’ – a tune in line with the wedding’s theme, Disney’s Beauty and the Beast. President Muhammadu Buhari has reacted to the Super Eagles victory against Argentina in a profile friendly game in Russia on Tuesday. The President sent a congratulatory message to the players and coaching crew over their stunning 4-2 comeback win against Jorge Sampaoli’s men. The Super Eagles found themselves trailing 2-0 following goals from Ever Banega and Sergio Aguero in the first half. But goals from Kelechi Iheanacho, debutant Bryan Idowu and Alex Iwobi who scored twice ensured Nigeria defeated the star studded Argentine side. Reacting to the impressive win by Gernot Rohr’s men, President Buhari wrote on his verified Twitter handle, ”Congratulations to our soaring Super Eagles, and to all Nigerians, on tonight’s victory against Argentina.” Source: dailypost

Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo has turned down a new contract at the club after deciding to leave next summer, according to reports. The 32-year-old is Madrid's all-time leading goalscorer having netted 414 goals in just 407 appearances for the club since arriving from Manchester United for £80m in 2009. Reports during the recent summer transfer window claimed that Ronaldo was considering leaving the Spanish and European champions, but he eventually opted to stay at the Bernabeu. However, Spanish TV show El Chiringuito de Jugones now reports that the Portugal international has informed club president Florentino Perez that he wants to bring his record-breaking spell at the club to an end next summer. Real Madrid are understood to be determined to keep the four-time Ballon d'Or winner, although Ronaldo earlier this month insisted that he did not want to sign a new deal.
