Converge Media names GODSPOWER EFFIONG as Area VP for West Africa.

Converge Media Lagos, Nigeria – Launching a new tech service in the competitive Nigerian and West African market these days takes nothing less than a miracle.  However, Converge Media feels that they have the right man for the job in Godspower Effiong.  Effiong, a Lagos native is poised to lead Converge Media’s expansion into Africa’s biggest economy but also the continent’s most competitive region for new business, especially tech.

Converge Media’s Chief Operating Officer, Omari Salisbury, admits that he is looking for a little divine intervention from his new Area VP. “Well with a name like Godspower, I am hopeful that we have a few extra prayers on our side” said Salisbury. On a serious note, Salisbury says that he is very excited to welcome Effiong to Converge Media and is very confident in his ability to rapidly expand Converge Media’s footprint throughout West Africa.

Effiong’ s primary responsibilities early on, will be to bring new artists and influencers onto the Converge Media platform as well as to formalize relationships with regional brands and advertisers and to increase the overall awareness of the Converge Media platform.

Effiong joins Converge Media with extensive experience in brand development, digital engagement, social interaction, and mobile application development. All skills that he harnessed during his stints with the Starwood Hotels Group and with an international procurement company(TPS) in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates as well as with K-Social in Lagos, Nigeria respectively. Effiong is a graduate of the Zabeel International Institute of Technology located in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

Effiong joins Converge Media as things are heating up on the continent of Africa. Converge Media is fresh off, great early success in January as they launched their influencer platform for Africa with the East African songbird, Vanessa Mdee, and introduced her Vee Money App (#VeeMoneyApp) to the world. According to Effiong, there are many high profile African artists and celebrities launching later this year and his timing in accepting this opportunity is definitely heaven sent. “The team at Converge have done a lot of groundwork thus far and already have some very amazing clients on board” said Effiong “Momentum is on our side and it is my job to make sure that Converge Media keeps picking up speed, especially in West Africa”.
